The PDSA Animal Wellbeing (PAW) Report is the largest annual assessment of pet wellbeing in the UK. Having celebrated a milestone 10 years in 2020, the 2021 Report focuses on how the pandemic has impacted the UK’s pets. Working with YouGov, the survey provides results from a nationally representative sample of pet owners, giving us insight into some of the biggest welfare problems facing the UK’s pet dogs, cats and rabbits.
The results are used across the sector as an evidence base to ensure the most pressing issues are tackled, driving positive change for pet welfare. The 2021 PAW Report focuses on the changes our pets have experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic and throughout the multiple lockdowns. We look closely at five key areas: pet population, pet acquisition, behaviour, obesity and preventive healthcare - all areas which had the potential to be greatly impacted by the pandemic.
